Before drawing them, you must know what mandalas are!

Literally!

The Mandala is originally a Sanskrit word which literally means “circle.” It is a circular shaped design usually having a complex and abstract form. It has one identifiable center point from which an array of symbols shapes or patterns shoot up. Typically, Mandalas include loads of intricate designs and patterns that are symmetrical in nature. Mandalas may contain geometric as well as organic patterns. These patterns may also be recognizable images that are entirely relevant to an individual’s perception and carry a particular meaning for its creator.

Metaphorically!

When you carefully look at the Mandala, it gives you a sense of completeness. This COMPLETENESS is the true essence of Mandala, or we can say this sense of integrity is what Mandala is all about. Individuals are insecure and continuously in search of inner peace or being one with oneself. Mandala acts as a catalyst to seek inner peace. This is the reason why Mandala Symbols and Mandala Meditations are gaining momentum lately.
